BRIEF: Pagan on staff of Memphis Rep. Steve Cohen named to 'beautiful people' list

WASHINGTON, Jul 27, 2011 (The Commercial Appeal - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- A self-described "blue-collar boy from New Jersey" who works as Congressman Steve Cohen's communications director was named today to The Hill newspaper's list of the "50 Most Beautiful People" in Washington.

Michael Pagan, 35, joined the staff of the Memphis Democrat about a year and a half ago after stints with New Jersey Sen. Frank Lautenberg and former Sen. Jon Corzine, both New Jersey Democrats.

A graduate of Temple University in Philadelphia, Pagan has just returned from a honeymoon in Jamaica and told The Hill how he courted his new wife, Yasmin, who is also a Hill staffer.

Pagan also displayed some of the tattoos that cover his arms and back, noting, "It's a part of who I am." Asked how fellow Cohen staffers reacted to the listing, Pagan said: "They were very cool about it. They think the story about how I courted my wife was cute."
