ProFS selects Axida SaaS online fulfilment solution

(M2 PressWIRE Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Kingston upon Hull, -- Professional Fulfilment Services (ProFS), a Europe-wide logistics company has chosen Axida PPD to address the needs of one of its Online retail clients who specialise in entertainment media. The innovative Software as a Service (SaaS) pick, pack and dispatch system was the ideal fit for the requirement and provides plug-and-play simplicity for ProFS eliminating the need for complex software installations and dedicated hardware.

"We are excited about the direction Axida is taking with PPD. The cloud delivered system clearly demonstrates the proven experience Axida has in helping companies with pick, pack and dispatch operations. It is a very good fit with this particular client's business and we also see PPD as an extension to the portfolio of services on offer from ProFS," says Michael Boarer, Chief Operating Officer at ProFS.

The pay-as-you-go Axida PPD solution is fully-hosted online, free of licence fees and requires little to no upfront investment or additional computer hardware. Set up is wizard based as customers simply access the on-demand system on the Internet using a standard web browser. It features the benefits found in expensive, complex high-end warehouse management systems and provides on-line, real-time stock and dispatch management and instant live stock information, right through to automatic dispatch note and carrier label production.

"SaaS solutions are generally client driven, self-service technologies and PPD follows this approach by allowing users to configure the system to precisely how they need to use it. Setup is easy and requires no programming as it provides all the core functionality needed to provide a fully featured system. Cloud solutions are revolutionising the IT and logistics industries and we are excited to be using the PPD option as part of this revolution," adds Michael Boarer.

Headquartered in Jersey, with B2C distribution centres in Jersey, Guernsey, the UK and Switzerland, ProFS handles several million shipments a year. It boasts a client base of over 30 online retailers which includes well known names such as WH Smith and FragranceNet along with lesser known, but large online retail businesses such as IJT Direct and day2dayshop.com. ProFS offer a number of service components to meet with a variety of client demands. These include strategic logistics solutions, pick and pack services, offshore benefits as well as, of course a pan-European multi-centre service.
