Beer burglars steal from Rock Hill bar - again

ROCK HILL, Jun 23, 2011 (The Herald - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- More than 20 cases of beer were stolen from a cooler outside a Rock Hill bar early Thursday morning, deputies say.

Surveillance video shows two men getting out of a silver Nissan Altima without hubcaps behind End Zone bar on Ebenezer Road around 3:45 a.m., according to a York County Sheriff's Office report.

The men cut the lock off the outdoor cooler with bolt cutters and loaded 22 cases of assorted beers into the car, the report states.

One of the men picked up the lock and and took it with him. A third person drove the car, but was not seen on surveillance video.

This case is one of many in a string of beer thefts over the past month.

About 30 cases of miscellaneous domestic beer were stolen from End Zone Sports Bar on June 5.

Before that, $550 worth of beer was stolen from Hoopers on Celanese Road, and in late May 13 cases were stolen from Madison's on the Corner in Fort Mill, and $700 worth from the Chicken Shack on East Main Street in Rock Hill.

Clover Police arrested four teens earlier this month accused of stealing beer from the Patti-O Grill, located on Old North main Street in Clover. Two of the teens, Stephen Eric Neisley, 17 and Christopher Devon Burris, 18, of both Clover, were charged with burglary and alcohol law violations. Two others, who are underage, were issued summons for court.

Another Clover teen, 18-year-old Robert Reid Gibson, turned himself into to York County Sheriff's Office deputies earlier this month. He admitted to breaking into Old Timers Country Store on Black Highway in York on two separate occasions, stealing cigarettes and more than 25 bottles and cans of beer.

Police have not said if any of the beer burglaries are connected.
