John Cornyn (R-Texas) a member of the Senate Budget Committee, today voted against the Motion to Table the Motion to Proceed to H.R. 2560, the Cut, Cap, and Balance Act. After the vote Sen. Cornyn released the following statement: "The Democrat-led Senate's failure to both produce a budget and pass the Cut, Cap, and Balance Act of 2011 underscores the Democrats' irresponsible commitment to the status quo," said Senator Cornyn. "While the President and Senator Reid refuse to produce a plan to deal with our debt crisis, Republicans will keep working to meet the nation's fiscal challenges." Senator Cornyn serves on the Finance, Judiciary, Armed Services and Budget Committees. He serves as the top Republican on the Judiciary Committee's Immigration, Refugees and Border Security subcommittee. He served previously as Texas Attorney General, Texas Supreme Court Justice, and Bexar County District Judge.
