Evolve IP Joins Chester County Keystone Innovation Board, Provides Technology Assistance Grant to Local Businesses

WAYNE, Pa. --(Business Wire)--

Growing Pennsylvania-based companies can now get a head-start on implementing and expanding critical technologies they need to support their burgeoning operations. Cloud Services Provider Evolve IP has joined the Board of the Chester County Keystone Innovation Zone (KIZ) and developed the Technology Assistance Grant, designed to provide funding for applicable emerging and growth organizations with mission critical technology services.

Evolve IP's (News - Alert) Technology Assistance Grant will help KIZ organizations implement or enhance critically needed technologies such as Hosted Applications, Data Center Infrastructure, and Security and Compliance services.

"We're excited about expanding our partnership with the Chester County Economic Development Council through our involvement with the Keystone Innovation Zone and are eager to provide a helping hand to early and growth stage companies in the area," says Guy Fardone, Chief Operating Officer and General Manager for Evolve IP. "Evolve IP has been fortunate to experience tremendous growth, and we know the power of long-lasting, mutually beneficial relationships on business success. It's our objective to give back to our business community by providing funding for cutting-edge technologies to companies at a time when they need them the most. Our Technology Assistance Grant is yet another major benefit of becoming a Keystone Innovation Zone company."

Shawn Blackburn, Chief Executive Officer of Y-Prime LLC, had to make the critical decision between building his company's own data center or finding a provider that could provide the cloud-based infrastructure required to meet the demands of a growing software business. With the help of the Chester County Economic Development Counci, Y-Prime identified Evolve IP as a possible solution for their infrastructure and application needs.

"There are many hosting and cloud options available on the market," says Blackburn. "Our goal was to find a company that could grow with us, and using a fellow KIZ company gives us the strategic alliance we can trust. Our concerns were customer service and security. Evolve IP was able to provide both and much more. Our team would not have the same level of communication with a large cloud hosting solution that we get with Evolve IP."

ProTecs also has enjoyed significant cost savings while increasing the performance and efficiency of its business due to the Chester County KIZ initiative and Evolve IP's Technology Assistance Grant. "Our move from Conshohocken, Pa. to Plymouth Meeting, Pa. provided us with the opportunity to take advantage of the Technology Assistance Grant," explains Christopher DiPaolo, President of ProTecs. "We had an old Toshiba (News - Alert) phone system that no longer suited our growth requirements and we also needed to upgrade our Local Area Network infrastructure. With Evolve IP's help, we were able to upgrade to a state-of-the-art IP PBX (News - Alert) technology infrastructure without outlaying any initial capital for the system, and save 33 percent in the first year of our communications expenses. We also intend to start an incubator for emerging and small biotech and life science companies at our new location, and Evolve IP will be a huge partner in providing our tenants with everything they need from a technology perspective."

"Our core mission is to help emerging technology companies succeed," says Mary Fuchs, Project Director for the Chester County Keystone Innovation Zone. "Resources provided by our board and partners, such as Evolve IP, are key to that success. As a young and successful local business, Evolve IP had already established itself as a valuable part of the KIZ community. Now, with their Technology Assistance Grant, they are further putting into action the very principles upon which this organization was built. We're excited about the opportunities the Evolve IP Technology Grant will open up to our members."

Keystone Innovation Zones (KIZs) are a statewide initiative and are designated zones designed to foster innovation and create entrepreneurial opportunities by gathering and aligning the combined resources of educational institutions, private businesses, business support organizations, commercial lending institutions, venture capital networks (including angel investors), and foundations. Member companies may be eligible for a number of benefits, including resources and grant funding for staff training and intern programs, transferable state tax credits, and now, monthly technology credits toward cloud-based technology services from Evolve IP.

Evolve IP's Technology Assistance Grant is available to all KIZ companies. To join the KIZ community, organizations must be in the biotech, life sciences, energy and information technology sectors, located and operating within any of KIZ's 12 regions across Pennsylvania. Companies must be in operation for eight years or less and approved by the KIZ.

Evolve IP is located in The Evolve IP Corporate Center, located at the intersection of Old Eagle School Road and Devon Park Drive in Wayne, Pa. and falls within the Chester County Keystone Innovation Zone. The Corporate Center is owned and operated by GPX Realty Partners. KIZ eligible organizations interested in real estate space can contact Joe Conwell at 215.259.2530 for further information.
