Actuate Announces India Launch

Actuate (News - Alert) Corporation (NASDAQ:BIRT), The people behind BIRT^® and the leader in open source Business Intelligence (BI), today announced that the company is planning to expand its presence in India by hosting events, engaging with key partners and providing resources to the growing number of Indian software developers already using BIRT to build Business Intelligence, data visualizations and information delivery applications.

Actuate is bringing its BIRT events to India to give India's large developer population access to the same resources and education already benefiting over 5,500 BIRT Roadshow registrants in APAC, EMEA, and North America. The first of these events, the BIRT Roadshow in Bangalore, is a free, half day event that introduces BIRT and demonstrates how developers and IT managers can leverage BIRT to quickly create data-driven reports, web pages, and compelling information visualizations using its visual drag-and-drop design environment. Participants will also receive training and software material, evaluation licenses and demos of the BIRT design environment. The event serves as a great orientation to BIRT, the Eclipse Foundation Business Intelligence and Reporting Tools open source project sponsored by Actuate.

The Bangalore BIRT Introductory Roadshow will show attendees how to use BIRT and ActuateOne to build a new generation of rich information applications. Attendees can expect to:

• View exclusive live demonstrations including data analytics and dashboarding
