Electric Drive Transportation Association (EDTA) Emphasizes Inclusiveness, Fairness, and Collaboration at 2-day Board of Directors Meeting(Targeted News Service Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) WASHINGTON, July 14 -- The Electric Drive Transportation Association issued the following news release: The EDTA Board of Directors met on July 12th and 13th in Washington, DC to discuss the increasing visibility and market potential for the industry, as well as the ongoing governance of the association. To emphasize the growing diversity of EDTA's membership, the Board expanded its leadership to include a Vice-Chair from the components sector. MaryAnn Wright, Vice President of Global Technology & Innovation for Johnson Controls, Inc., was unanimously elected to serve as EDTA Vice-Chair alongside EDTA Chair Ted Craver, Chairman, President & CEO of Edison International, and EDTA Past-Chair Tony Posawatz, Vehicle Line Director of the Chevrolet Volt for the General Motors Company. The members of the board reiterated their commitment to EDTA's mission statement: The EDTA is the preeminent trade association representing battery, hybrid, plug-in hybrid and fuel cell electric drive technologies and infrastructure. EDTA conducts public policy advocacy, education, industry networking, and international conferences. EDTA's membership includes automotive and other equipment manufacturers, energy companies, technology developers, component suppliers, and government agencies. The board created three permanent committees: the Market Development Committee, the Education & Outreach Committee, and the Executive Committee. The Market Development Committee will identify current and emerging market challenges and opportunities as well as provide directional vision on EDTA's role in addressing those issues; The Education & Outreach Committee will provide strategic guidance for the GoElectricDrive effort as well as EDTA conference activities; Twelve members of the newly installed Executive Committee were elected from the Board. The twelve are made up of equal representation from the vehicles; utilities; components; and a fourth category including infrastructure, services and other market sectors. The Chair, Vice-Chair, and Past- Chair occupy one of three seats from their sector. Treasurer Mike Rowand, representing Duke Energy, was also named on the Executive Committee.
