Man Jailed for Hacking NeighbourJul 13, 2011 (Nairobi Star/All Africa Global Media via COMTEX) -- A man who hacked his neighbour with a jembe as his daughter watched has been jailed for one year by a Thika court. Samuel Njuguna had denied that on July 5, 2010 at Mithini village, Murang'a South, he injured Samuel Ndebu. Convicted him, magistrate Leticia Wachira said the prosecution led by chief inspector Josephine Wambua had proved its case against the accused. She said sufficient and corroborative evidence had been produced by the prosecution. Njuguna was jailed after he was unable to raise a Sh50,000 imposed on him. In mitigation, he said he was remorseful and pleaded for mercy. He was given 14 days to appeal the ruling. |
