BRIEF: Azerbaijani ministry starts online registration

Jul 01, 2011 (Trend News Agency - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- The Azerbaijani Tax Ministry began online registration of physical entities for the first time on July 1.

Physical entities in Azerbaijan can now be registered in the Taxes Ministry within three to five minutes without appealing to the ministry's authorities, Baku City Tax Department official Nigar Alimova said on Firday.

"This is a continuation of measures to fully bring the entrepreneurship registration process by the Taxes Ministry in line with international standards," she said.

The system's software is ready and tested in a test mode.

"By introducing online registration, physical entities will be accepted for registration through the user code. Every Azerbaijani citizen, who turned 18 years old and who received an identity card, can register online," Alimova said.

She said registration can be carried out through tax terminals. There are 27 tax terminals in the country.
