Another award for Gradwell [Bath Chronicle (England)]

(Bath Chronicle (England) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Multi-award-winning telephony provider Gradwell has scooped another accolade.

The Bath firm was named communication provider of the year by the Federation of Communication Services.

The award capped a busy 12 months for the Cheltenham Street- based firm. It has launched Gradwell Mobile, which enables users to make and receive calls on a traditional geographic landline number, and Gradwell One, a mobile phone app that allows people to connect their mobiles with their office's telephone network. Most recently, Gradwell announced the launch of Fibreline, a fibre optic connection for businesses that sends data from the internet exchange to the user at the speed of light.

Company founder and managing director Peter Gradwell, who launched the business in the second year of his university course, was presented with the Federation of Communication Services (FCS) award by broadcaster John Sergeant at a ceremony in London.

The FCS is the UK trade association for the communications services industry, including landline, mobile and internet telephony markets. Each year, its communication provider of the year award is given to the company which is deemed to have made the biggest contribution to the promotion of innovation in telephony service provision. Mr Gradwell said: "After another fantastic year, this award is a great reflection of all the hard work that the Gradwell team has put in.

"As well as launching several new products, we've continued to expand our customer base to over 10,000 businesses.

"This award is especially important to us as it demonstrates our ability to compete with the whole industry, including fixed line and mobile business. What's more, I can now say that I've met John Sergeant!" (c) 2011 ProQuest Information and Learning Company; All Rights Reserved.
