DeviceAnywhere Taps Robert Kleinschmidt as VP of EngineeringJun 30, 2011 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- DeviceAnywhere, a mobile application testing platform, announced that Robert Kleinschmidt has been named Vice President of Engineering. The Company said Kleinschmidt, a technology engineering veteran, has joined the San Mateo based company from Oracle. He has more than 20 years of engineering and research experience at Oracle and several other Silicon Valley stalwarts. "Robert brings a proven record of innovation, ingenuity and success in software development, engineering process, as well as QA and automation to DeviceAnywhere," said Faraz Syed, DeviceAnywhere CEO and co-founder. As the Vice President of Engineering, the Company noted that Kleinschmidt will be responsible for managing DeviceAnywhere's engineering staff and guiding the company's technological development. His focus will be on continuing to provide DeviceAnywhere enterprise customers with quality mobile application solutions available in the market. According to a release, Kleinschmidt served as Senior Director of Engineering at Oracle responsible for Software Engineering Tools and Infrastructure. Robert's past roles include Senior Director at Evant, Geac, Extensity and SGI. He was responsible for development of the Merchandise Planning, Promotion Management and Event Management portions of Evant's enterprise offering. Kleinschmidt led development of the Extensity Application Suite portion of Geac's BPM offering. At Extensity, he directed Release Engineering, QA Systems Testing, Infrastructure Tools, QA Certification Testing and Performance Engineering. While at SGI he created the SGI connectivity group which integrated workstations into the enterprise.
