MCLEAN, Va. --(Business Wire)--

Cognosante, LLC (www.cognosante.com) announced today the appointment of Sean M. Gallagher as Senior Vice President and General Counsel.

Mr. Gallagher will have overall responsibility for the operation of the Company's legal and contracts departments. In this position he will provide legal advice on a wide array of substantives areas impacting the Company and its subsidiaries including acquisitions, corporate governance, government contracting, labor/employment, litigation, intellectual property, benefits and real estate.

Prior to joining Cognosante, Mr. Gallagher served as Vice President and Deputy General Counsel for Stanley, Inc., a NYSE-listed provider of information technology services and solutions to U.S. defense, intelligence and federal civilian government agencies, which was acquired by CGI Group (News - Alert), Inc. in 2010. Earlier in his career, Mr. Gallagher practiced as a corporate finance and securities attorney at the law firms of Hogan & Hartson LLP (now Hogan Lovells LLP) and Sullivan & Cromwell LLP in Washington, D.C.
