[June 22, 2011] Hackers invade website of Brazilian presidency Tweet RIO DE JANEIRO, Jun 22, 2011 (Xinhua via COMTEX) -- The Brazilian government announced Wednesday that it has thwarted cyber attacks against the presidency's website and two other governmental pages. The attacks were carried out by a hacker group named LulzSecBrazil. Also under attack were the Federal Revenues Secretariat website and the Portal Brasil page. The presidency's website was offline for about an hour in the early hours of Wednesday. The cyber attacks were contained and information on those websites was safe, the presidency's press office said. Brazil has seen frequent cyber attacks recently.
