[June 21, 2011] 100 Gigabit Ethernet Interoperability Test a Success at Largest Internet Exchange Point in Japan Tweet (Market Wire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) SAN JOSE, CA and TOKYO -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 06/21/11 -- The Japanese Internet Exchange Point (IXP) and operator of the Japan Network Access Point (JPNAP), Internet Multifeed Co., have successfully conducted a 100 Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) interoperability test. Based on the results of the test, it has been confirmed that 100 GbE is ready to be deployed into IXP environments in terms of both interoperability and performance. The trial was carried out in conjunction with the Internet Initiative Japan (IIJ) and NTT Communications (NTT Com) using routers, switches and packet generators provided by Brocade (NASDAQ: BRCD) and other networking vendors. Internet Multifeed Co. will now consider the service specification and pricing, and plans to provide 100 GbE service by end of 2011.
