Scottish Borders Council seeks bids for hardware installation servicesJun 16, 2011 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- Scottish Borders Council has issued a tender for the procurement of hardware installation services, according to PublicTenders.net. The scope of the deal is divided into two lots: Lot 1 involves provision of The scope of the deal is divided into two lots. The first lot involves provision of personal computers (PCs) and printers to all centers, along with options for installing this equipment in schools and additional needs centers and removing the old equipment and approximately, 2,500 to 4,000 PCs are required to be refreshed. This lot is valued between GBP1.61 million ($2.6 million) and GBP2.3 million ($3.3 million) for the three initial years of the contract. The second lot involves provision of software and tools for managing the schools ICT infrastructure, and for supporting and maintaining this ICT infrastructure. This lot is valued between GBP0.17 million ($0.3 million) and GBP0.24 million ($0.4 million) for the three initial years of the contract. The contract will initially run for three years and will have an option to extend for additional five years.
