Hacked off! [Gulf Daily News (Bahrain)](Gulf Daily News (Bahrain) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) I AM writing to warn other potential victims of Internet hacking through online utility payments. On May 23, my account was hacked 56 times. Some unscrupulous people, through online utility payment, hacked it and transferred values ranging from BD1 to BD30 to pre-paid Sim cards at the interval of one to two minutes. The sad thing was neither my bank nor telecom provider were able to systematically stop the transfer! The hacking happened from 11.30pm to 2.20am while I was sleeping, thinking my money is kept safely in the bank. It learned about the hacking after my husband reported it the following day. He was checking our account on a regular basis only to discover that it was fraudulently accessed, otherwise nobody, not even the bank, would uncover it. Although it promised immediate comprehensive response and recovery, we still await the same. This incident affected my confidence in the integrity of Internet banking and my trust in large establishments. My money was hard-earned and hacked one day after I lost my job. I pray to God that whoever did this suffers the consequence of his evil act. I also pray that the bank will have a heart to repay the money I faithfully entrusted to it in the four years that I was employed.
