PositiveID signs agreement with Rogers to improve diabetes management

Jun 13, 2011 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- PositiveID Corporation, a medical device company, has signed an agreement with Rogers Communications, a provider of wireless services in Canada, to improve diabetes management using the mobile technology of Rogers.

Through this strategic relationship, Rogers Communications will provide PositiveID with machine-to-machine (M2M) wireless data and mobile connectivity management services to enable the communication of a diabetes patient's glucose readings from PositiveID's iglucose solution.

PositiveID's iglucose system is a mobile health solution designed to facilitate diabetes management by automatically creating logs and journals, which the American Diabetes Association says are an important assessment of an individual's response to their diabetes care plan. iglucose provides next generation data to facilitate diabetes management by helping ensure patient compliance and data accuracy, and aiding in insurance reimbursement.

"We are excited to partner with Rogers and utilize its robust network and innovative device management platform to enhance our iglucose system," said Scott R. Silverman, Chairman and CEO of PositiveID regarding the partnership with Rogers Communications. "This positions the companies to provide a complete, consistent solution for people living with diabetes. As we launch the innovative iglucose service, we will have a technology platform in place capable of handling our business as it grows throughout Canada." http://www.datamonitor.com Republication or redistribution, including by framing or similar means, is expressly prohibited without prior written consent.
