Biotech Business Fundamentals Paramount at 7th Annual Biotechnology Entrepreneurship Boot Camp at 2011 BIO International ConventionWASHINGTON --(Business Wire)-- The Biotechnology Entrepreneurship Boot Camp will be held for its seventh consecutive year at the BIO International Convention in Washington, D.C. from Sunday, June 26 to mid-day Tuesday, June 28. The Boot Camp will address biotechnology strategy by analyzing case studies and FDA regulations, highlighting business fundamentals in a series of 17 sessions, and providing opportunities for partnering with local researchers and companies. "The Biotechnology Entrepreneurship Boot Camp offers our attendees the opportunity to hear from experts on creating and building startups on topics ranging from business model development to reimbursement and pricing strategies, and other major components of the commercialization process that are critical for managerial, scientific and academic leaders to understand and master," said Jim Greenwood, president and CEO of the Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO). The Boot Camp initially began as a program for CSOs in the industry and has since expanded its focus to address issues for entrepreneurs more generally. The main goal of the Boot Camp is to meet the needs of the managerial, scientific, and academic community to learn about the necessary elements and skills to transform technology and inventions into a viable company. The BIO Academic-Industry Committee, established in 2005, was the result of this main initiative and seeks for its members to develop insight and energy for entrepreneurial success through educational sessions and lectures that make up the Boot Camp. Speakers and panel sessions include:
