Photonics Festival in Taiwan/Display Taiwan 2011 Start "Living Green" in June


TAIPEI, Taiwan --(Business Wire)--

Photonics Festival in Taiwan 2011 and the concurrently held Display Taiwan 2011, hosted by four leading industry groups- PIDA, SEMI, TAITRA, and TCA, are ready to bring on the latest advancement in photonics and display industry during June 14~16, 2011. This year's show will take place in TWTC Nangang Exhibition Hall to respond the continuing expansion of Photonics Festival in Taiwan and Display Taiwan. In 2011, the scale of Photonics Festival in Taiwan grows ever larger to reach 650 exhibitors and 2,000 booths, and a great amount of 45,000 visitors is expected to join the events.

Several prominent events are set to launch to echo the theme of this year- "Living Green." PIDA specifically plans the Ecopolis Zone to give visitors a different thought to live greener. The area of Ecopolis Zone comprises the world's leading companies such as Philips Lumileds, Cree (News - Alert), and Osram, which are going to showcase the latest ED technologies and products that promote sustainability. In addition, international governmental units and science parks will also participate in the three-day-run event to share their experience in reducing energy consumption and carbon dioxide in over 20 cities in the world.



In this year's LED Lighting Taiwan, exhibitors from up-stream chip manufactures to down-stream LED applications would cluster together to demonstrate the comprehensive Taiwan LED supply chain in miniature. The show is filled with LED key players that bring vitality in the event-Daicel Chemical, Disco, Dominant Semiconductor, Evonik, Monocrystal, Astek, Sapphire TEK, Panasonic (News - Alert) Electronic Works, etc.

Taiwan is already the world's second largest solar cell production base, and has the comprehensive supply chain from materials, wafer, solar cells, modules, system. To draw the essence of Taiwan PV industry at once, SOLAR Taiwan is definitely a must-see. The three science parks- Hsinchu Science Park (HSP), Central Taiwan Science Park (CTSP), and Southern Taiwan Science Park (STSP)- which make up about 60% share of Taiwan PV players, will together represent the synergy of the industry clusters. As for advanced PV technologies and applications, M-Com and INER will showcase their achievements in HCPV, and so does TTRI in the combination of photonic technology and textile.


Taiwan FPD industry is well known for its manufacturing capability for worldwide FPD products & components. Display Taiwan is going to demonstrate the future of the global FPD again. PIDA expects the annual revenue of Taiwan FPD industry in 2011 will perform strong again to take up nearly 40% of the global market share for panels. And this vitality is going to be displayed in Display Taiwan 2011.
