BRIEF: Some Tucson city golf courses to get new restaurants, snack bars [The Arizona Daily Star, Tucson](Arizona Daily Star (Tucson) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) June 10--The restaurants and snack bars at Tucson City Golf will get an upgrade after a local food-service and event-planning company takes over catering and concessions at the city's golf courses later this month. Tucson Food Service Group, which operates 17th Street Market and several other catering and event-planning services, will take over the food and concessions side of the city's five public golf courses for a three-year contract starting June 17. The company plans to bring in new restaurant and snack bar facilities at the Randolph, Fred Enke, El Rio and Silverbell golf courses as well as design new restaurant and clubhouse themes for each of the city's five courses, including expanded menus and beverage cart services. The company is also planning to expand special events offerings at the golf courses to include more options such as parties and weddings. "We're going to be taking things up a notch," said Jim Stanley, a company spokesman.
