Calera man charged with indecent exposureJun 10, 2011 (Durant Daily Democrat - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- A Calera man was charged with indecent exposure Thursday after police said he exposed himself at EZ-Mart in Calera. According to the report, Woodrow Melton Roberts, formally of McAlester, walked into the EZ-Mart located in Calera Sunday night and exposed himself to the clerk on duty. He then returned a few hours later and repeated the gesture. Police obtained the surveillance video and saw both incidents the clerk reported. Roberts was first shown on the video as if he were exposing himself, but, according to the report, due to the angle of the camera, his hand was in the way. About four hours later, Roberts returned to the store and made a purchase. He was then shown leaning against the counter and "up as if he may be standing on his toes or the ball of his feet." He proceeded to expose himself on the counter as the clerk returned his change, the report stated. Police made contact with Roberts and showed him the video. Roberts told police he had no recollection of being at the EZ-Mart or exposing himself. He said he was at the lake with friends drinking and doesn't remember leaving, according to report. Roberts said he was humiliated and expressed that he had been through rehab for a previous drinking problem, the report stated. Indecent exposure is punishable by imprisonment up to 10 years or a fine up to $20,000, or both. To see more of the Durant Daily Democrat, go to http://www.durantdemocrat.com/.
