Six Butler Rubin reinsurance partners were individually ranked among the top reinsurance lawyers in Illinois, including Julie Rodriguez Aldort, Ira Belcove, Robert Hermes, Catherine Isely, James Rubin (named a "Star Individual") and Teresa Snider.

According to the Chambers USA report: "[Butler Rubin] has an enviable reputation in the reinsurance field, handling many of the biggest cases in the market. A case in point has seen the team representing Liberty Mutual Insurance in its high-profile and high-stakes dispute with AIG, which alleges the misreporting of workers' compensation premiums. Sources say: 'A more experienced and client-friendly group than the competition.'"

Chambers USA annually ranks U.S. law firms based on in-depth telephone interviews with law firm clients and other attorneys. For the current U.S. directory, over 10,000 of these interviews were conducted by a team of 40 full-time researchers over a period of six months.

Chambers USA also commented on Butler Rubin's lawyers:

"Sources single out James Rubin as the 'sage of the Reinsurance Bar.' He typically leads on the most complex and high-profile of insurance matters, Liberty Mutual's claim against AIG being a prime example. Robert Hermes is known for his expertise handling asbestos and environmental insurance claims, as is Catherine Isely. 'She is articulate in hearings and has a detailed understanding of insurance policies,' say clients. Ira Belcove has lately been busy with a number of credit insurance disputes and is praised for 'responsiveness, diligence and honesty.' Julie Rodriguez Aldort has extensive experience handling financial services insurance cases, while Teresa Snider is adept at insolvency-related matters. Snider is acclaimed as 'methodical, detail-oriented and aggressive.'"

As part of Chambers ranking system, law firms and individual attorneys are ranked on a scale of 1-6. The rankings and editorial comment about attorneys are independent and objective, and inclusion in this section of the guide is based solely on the research team's findings.
