BRIEF: UPDATE WITH PICTURE: More charges added to Waterloo man accused of vehicle burglaries [Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier, Iowa]


(Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier (IA) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) June 09--WATERLOO, Iowa -- A Waterloo man who was arrested last month for allegedly stealing an air compressor has been connected to other vehicle burglaries, according to Waterloo police.

Chad Robert Kannegieter, 23, of 1939 Ark Ave., was arrested Tuesday at the jail for four counts of burglary to a vehicle. He had been in jail since May 26 when he was arrested for removing the air compressor from a van parked in the Lehman Circle mobile home park.

The new charges allege he and another person broke in to another vehicle on Lehman Circle and other vehicles parked at businesses along Martin Luther King Jr. Drive that same day.


According to court records, three vehicles were broken in to at Ferguson Enterprises. A GPS receiver and stereo were taken from one, and another one had pry marks around the radio. Across the street at the parking lot of Tyson Fresh Meats, five vehicles were burglarized.

Also, a car stereo and speakers were taken from vehicles parked at 120 Lehman Circle and 2900 Dell Drive.

During the investigation, police searched Kannegieter's home and found some of the missing items, records state.

Kannegieter remains in the Black Hawk County Jail with bond set at $65,000.
