U.S. Patents Awarded to Inventors in Idaho (June 7)(Targeted News Service Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Targeted News Service Targeted News Service ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 7 -- The following federal patents were awarded to inventors in Idaho. *** Nail Jack Tools Assigned Patent ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 7 -- Nail Jack Tools, Laguna Beach, Calif., has been assigned a patent (7,950,627) developed by Michael J. Foley, Hailey, Idaho, for a fastener extraction tool. The abstract of the patent published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office states: "The hand tool is used to extract a fastener from a material by preferably gripping the fastener from a horizontal orientation. The hand tool has a head with two pivotally joined halves including at least one pair of gripping jaws. The tool head preferably includes tips that may be used to dig beneath a fastener head that is flush with or set below a surface. The tool includes a pair of handles operable to close the gripping jaws. The handles are preferably offset above the plane of the tool head such that they operate as a lever in cooperation with a fulcrum on the bottom of the tool head to extract the fastener. In one embodiment, the forward jaws of the tool have concave curved gripping surfaces. In one embodiment, the rearward jaws have non-complementary surfaces." The patent application was filed on July 8, 2008 (12/169,095). Blossom, Boise, Idaho, has developed a patent (7,950,544) for a "support and stand for furniture from kegs." The abstract of the patent published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office states: "The present invention is a top stand platform for furniture manufactured from beer kegs. The top stand platform has a first load distribution ring which circumvents the outlet opening at the center top of the keg at a level below the top flange of the outlet opening. Near its periphery, the first ring has a set of first threaded bolts extending downwardly onto the top surface of the keg. Also, the top stand platform comprises a second stand base ring, with a set of second threaded bolts which secure the second stand base ring to the top of the first load distribution ring. This way, the two first and second rings are clamped together and secured tightly to the flange of the outlet opening at the top of the keg. Secured to the top of the second stand base ring is an upwardly-extending base." The patent application was filed on Jan. 30, 2007 (11/700,364). The abstract of the patent published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office states: "A method and apparatus for supplying greater fluid flow and/or fluid volume from a fluid provided from a facility source to a substrate processing chamber is provided. The apparatus couples to an existing facility fluid source and accumulates the fluid, and the flow characteristics of the accumulated fluid are enhanced for delivery to the processing chamber. The apparatus includes a tank in fluid communication with the facility source and one or more processing chambers, and a valve disposed between the tank and the processing chambers adapted to receive a signal from a controller to facilitate filling or draining of the tank. The apparatus and method affects cost of ownership by altering the pressure and/or volume of the existing facility source without the need to alter the facility source." The patent application was filed on Feb. 7, 2007 (11/672,254). The full-text of the patent can be found at http://patft.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-Parser?Sect1=PTO2&Sect2=HITOFF&p=1&u=%2Fnetahtml%2FPTO%2Fsearch-bool.html&r=1&f=G&l=50&co1=AND&d=PTXT&s1=7,950,407.PN.&OS=PN/7,950,407&RS=PN/7,950,407 Written by Rajat Puri; edited by Jaya Anand.
