Now, hackers attack Nintendo's US-based servers [Asian News International]

(Asian News International Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Kyoto, June 7(ANI): Nintendo's US-based servers were attacked by hackers several weeks ago, but no company or customer information was compromised in the raid, the Japanese video game company has said.

The news comes just weeks after hackers broke into Sony's PlayStation servers and exposed the personal information of over 100 million of its customers.

"The server contained no consumer information. The protection of our customer information is our utmost priority," The Daily Mail quoted a statement from Nintendo, as saying.

"We constantly monitor our security," it added.

Nintendo is expected to unveil the follow-up to its Wii console this week Meanwhile, a hacker group called Lulzsec Security has claimed that it had attacked Nintendo.

"We didn't mean any harm. Nintendo had already fixed it anyway," Lulz Security said in a Twitter post.

Lulz Security is the same group that broke into the servers that run Sony Pictures Entertainment websites last week, and claimed attacks on US PBS television and Fox.com. (ANI) (c) 2011 Asian News International (ANI) - All Rights Reserved. Provided by Syndigate.info an Albawaba.com company
