BRIEF: Walla Walla High School to show graduation online

Jun 03, 2011 (Tri-City Herald - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- Walla Walla High School will broadcast its graduation ceremony live online this year.

The ceremony, scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday, can be seen on www.wwps.org or www.wahibluedevils.org, using the password "goblue." The video stream begins at 6:30 p.m. and will cover the entire event.

School officials decided to stream the event online after hearing about parents who could not attend their child's graduation for medical reasons.

The video project's organizers have tested several internet browsers and smartphones, and said all are able to show the video stream. Computers or phones need to be equipped with the Adobe Flash Player.

The production will feature a three camera set-up to offer various views.

About 450 graduates are expected to participate in the ceremonies. The event will be near the commons area on the grounds of Walla Walla High School.
