Spigit Achieves 'Ready for Rational' ValidationPLEASANTON, CA, Jun 06, 2011 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) -- Spigit, Inc., the world leader in innovation management software, today announced the official IBM validation of its platform as 'Ready for Rational (RFRS).' This validation enables the best ideas that have been selected through Spigit's advanced algorithms and expert reviews to be moved seamlessly into Focal Point's Product and Portfolio Management system for modeling financial and market impacts and performing scenario, statistical, and financial analysis. The Spigit Focal Point Integrator solution has been validated at the Ready for IBM Rational software V7.8.2 level. The plug-in met the requirements for the IBM Software Delivery Platform - Project and Portfolio Management Level, giving Spigit its first RFRS validated solution. "IBM Focal Point, working with Spigit, effectively tracks all strands of communication around an idea in the PPM system," said Michael Loria, Vice President, IBM Rational Business Development. "The recently released Software Developer Kit provides our clients with an end-to-end solution, allowing them to focus on the best ideas faster from inception to realization." Spigit recently launched IBM Rational's Cool.Software.Contest, powered by the newly released SpigitEngage for Facebook product. The site was launched in preparation for the company's annual Orlando-based Innovate 2011 conference. The highly engaging contest challenges Facebook users to ask themselves where the "coolest, most unexpected, most amazing place that software is used." Once they have their idea, they are to then take a photo of the "cool" software, holding the IBM "Software. Everyware" logo (available for download on the contest page) next to it, and then post the photo directly to the IBM Facebook contest wall. Those who upload a picture are eligible to win an iPad and other great prizes. The contest plays well into the conference's software and systems innovation-focused theme, where the IBM team will "recognize, celebrate, and enable software and systems innovation," according to IBM. Spigit, who is a Silver sponsor of the event, will also have its SVP of Product and R&D, Lisa Purvis, in attendance to provide further insight into Spigit and IBM's relationship moving forward. "Spigit's 'Ready for Rational' validated integration with Rational Focal Point enables an effective end-to-end idea management process," stated Paul Pluschkell, CEO and Founder, Spigit. "With the integration, our customers are able to model and strategically evaluate actionable ideas sourced within Spigit's social innovation solution, ensuring that the best ideas are implemented."
