BroadLight to Demonstrate a Service Centric GPON Gateway at the Home Gateway Initiative

SANTA CLARA, Calif. --(Business Wire)--

BroadLight, the leading supplier of fiber access processors, announced today its upcoming service centric gateway demonstration at the Home Gateway Initiative (HGI (News - Alert)) Meeting, on June 6th-10th, 2011 in Sevilla, Spain.

The demonstration will feature an energy efficient GPON Gateway processing 16K Sessions of IPv6 Gigabit routing while running a home automation application over Java/OSGI.

"As forerunners in the multi session advance networking for the home gateways and advocates of ecodesign, HGI looks forward to BroadLight's demonstration of its technology," said Hans Werner Bitzer, Chairman of HGI. "BroadLight's activity and impact is a continuing evidence of the tight cooperation between operators and manufacturers enabled by the HGI in effectively translating broadband service providers' service plans into published technology requirements for the connected home."
