China to Launch Claimed Copyrighted iPadSHENZHEN, Jun 01, 2011 (SinoCast Daily Business Beat via COMTEX) -- Apple Inc. (Nasdaq: AAPL) CEO Steve Jobs has mocked that Samsung could only copy the products made by his company. However, he never expects that Apple would be considered as a knockoff maker in China. Lately, two Chinese companies that have the trademark ownership and shape design right of iPad announced that they would launch truly copyrighted iPad. Yesterday, a top executive of Proview Technology (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. told reporters that the company had rolled out real iPad. Proview Technology is the holder of iPad trademark in Mainland China and has confronted Apple at court for the ownership of the trademark. In October 2010, Proview Technology declared that it would demand compensation of up to CNY 10 billion from Apple. The co-developer of claimed copyrighted iPad is Shenzhen Great Dragon Brother Ltd., which launched handwritten computer P88 in 2009. The product has a similar shape with iPad made by Apple. The so-called copyrighted iPad is equipped with Windows operating system and business software designed for enterprise usage. Its hardware is the same with iPad made by Apple. The only difference is that it is made in China. Source: www.163.com (June 01, 2011) |
