Omek's Beckon Middleware Provides Gesture and Tracking Technology for EEDOO'S iSec Sports & Entertainment Center

SAN FRANCISCO, CA, May 16, 2011 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) -- Omek Interactive (www.omekinteractive.com) and EEDOO Technology announced today that the newly announced iSec Sports & Entertainment Center incorporates Omek's Beckon(TM) middleware as its core platform software technology for gesture recognition and body tracking.

The iSec is the first entertainment center in China that features advanced gesture recognition and body tracking via a 3D camera that allows gamers to use their bodies, rather than a traditional game controller, to control their games. Omek's Beckon technology provides the critical software link that allows the iSec, and its applications, to access and interpret the raw data coming from the iSec's camera.

"Omek is a very valuable partner helping EEDOO to fulfill its core mission," said Jack Luo, CEO of EEDOO. "Omek provides technology that helps game-developers create high-quality games for the iSec platform. EEDOO in turn will leverage these games for happier and healthier lives of families in China." Omek's Beckon technology has been integrated into the iSec's operating system, and EEDOO has designated Omek's Beckon Development Suite as the standard development tool for the many game and application developers that are developing for the iSec.

Omek's Beckon middleware and development tools provide application and interface developers with a high-performance engine and API that allows them to add full-body tracking and gesture recognition to their products. Beckon works across all of the major consumer and commercial 3D cameras, giving EEDOO the ability to migrate to other depth cameras for future models of the iSec without requiring any change in their interface or applications.

"We're extremely excited to be powering the iSec sports & entertainment center," said Janine Kutliroff, CEO of Omek.

"Developers can get a copy of Omek's Beckon development tools from EEDOO and gain access to what we think could be the most significant new platform launch for gaming and lifestyle content this decade.

And, since we provide cross-camera and cross-platform support, their games will work on the many gesture-enabled TVs, computers and set-top box products expected to come out in the Western world in 2012." About Omek Interactive Omek is transforming the way people interact with their devices and applications, by providing tools and technology that enable manufacturers and software developers to add natural user interfaces (NUIs) to their products. Omek's gesture recognition and body tracking software is being incorporated into TVs, set-top boxes, computers and peripherals, interactive signs, medical and fitness devices, and into the content and applications that run on these devices. Omek's tools work with all major 3D cameras, and support a broad range of processors and operating systems -- giving customers the flexibility to take advantage of the latest technology, while maintaining portability for their applications. A privately held company, Omek is headquartered in Bet Shemesh, Israel, and has offices in San Francisco and Tokyo. For more information, visit www.omekinteractive.com.
