Avtex Sponsors MHTA's Spring Conference on InnovationMINNEAPOLIS --(Business Wire)-- Avtex (News - Alert)™, a provider of integrated interaction solutions that recently merged with Inetium and Convergent, is a Gold Sponsor of today's Minnesota High Tech Association (MHTA) Spring Conference themed around technology innovation in Minnesota. To emphasize its commitment to innovation, Avtex will demonstrate new applications from its Innovation Lab. The team will talk about a unique approach to product development based on client collaboration and the exploration of new technologies like voice, chat, gesture-based computing, cloud and mobile. Industry experts predict that the rapid adoption of mobile devices and easy-to-access applications will significantly change how we communicate. Along with the move to the cloud, businesses of all sizes will have access to more affordable software solutions. Anticipating emerging growth opportunities in technology, state leaders including Mark Dayton who kicked off today's MHTA event by emphasizing the value of innovation, are pushing for more Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) in schools. As part of the company's mission to optimize client interactions through the use of communication and collaboration technologies, the Avtex Innovation Team has three primary areas of focus: research and development, technology evangelism and new product development. A key part of the process is customer collaboration, often inviting them to participate in "Innovation Theater," an Avtex led session designed to vet out product concepts. The Innovation Team uses its Lab as a way for Avtex to apply its experience and customer insights to address communication challenges within an organization. The team works closely with Microsoft (News - Alert) and other industry leading partners and has access to resources including beta versions of state-of-the-art technology platforms and applications. "We value the importance of voice-of-the-customer," said Keith Rachey, Chief Strategy Officer for Avtex. "The ouside-in perspective gives us a realistic understanding of each particular challenge a customer faces. We'll analyze each point of interaction and prioritize areas for improvement. As a result, we've created a unique process for the incubation of new products and an ideal platform for testing and development." The products that will be demonstrated at the conference include a Microsoft Windows Phone (News - Alert) 7™ mobile application and an interactive sales enablement solution. Current product experiments include video applications, gesture-based computing and camera control. Avtex will also feature a custom application leveraging Microsoft Kinect as part of its interactive tradeshow booth. "The possibilities of how we can apply some of these new technologies are endless," said Tim Bakke, Director, Strategy and Innovation. "The challenge is prioritizing and focusing on the solutions that matter most. By collaborating with our customers, we are able to very quickly come up with a concept and design a solution that addresses a real problem."
