Vivacom Deploys HP Solutions to Build NGINApr 04, 2011 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- HP announced that Vivacom Bulgaria is using HP solutions and experience to build a next-generation intelligent network (NGIN) that can increase efficiency and deliver a better, more personalized experience for more than 600,000 prepaid and virtual private network customers. Vivacom is a telecommunications provider in Bulgaria, offering a range of services in fixed and mobile voice, broadband data and television. By moving to NGIN, which includes support for voice-over-Internet Protocol (VOIP)-based applications, Vivacom strengthens existing services and opens the way to future services that take advantage of real-time capabilities in the network. According to a release, working with Vivacom, HP consolidated its different networks at the service layer, using the standards-based HP NGIN solution. With a single platform linking the network service layers in both core network and IT domains, Vivacom can control all services - voice, data and messaging - in real time, and manage prepaid billing. With HP NGIN, Vivacom achieves three key benefits, as described by the Company: -rapid rollout of new, integrated services across all networks; -increased revenue generation by allowing the bundling of attractive, cross-network promotions for all users; and -reduced operating costs.
