Digerati Technologies appoints senior vice president of engineering


Apr 01, 2011 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- Digerati Technologies, Inc., a provider of cloud communication services, has appointed Ken Ryon as senior vice president of engineering.

Mr Ryon fills a newly created position in support of further development and expansion of the Company's cloud-based suite of products.

Arthur Smith, President and CEO of Digerati Technologies, said: "Ken is a well-respected and experienced technologist with extensive experience in cloud telephony that includes patent development for VoIP switching applications. His skills and experience are perfectly matched with our strategic initiative to accelerate our business plan and grow our cloud-based service revenues. We are very fortunate to have such a seasoned executive join our team." Prior to joining Digerati, he held various management positions, including VP of Engineering and Network Operations, at DoubleHorn Communications, where he led the development and expansion of that company's managed VoIP platform. This project included the implementation of a comprehensive network monitoring and service provisioning framework. Prior to Doublehorn, Mr Ryon held a senior management position at Voxpath Networks where he was involved with the design and development of the company's softswitch platform. While at Voxpath, Mr Ryon was named as the inventor on one of three US patents awarded to the company. Mr Ryon has also held lead engineering and senior management positions with Dantis USA, Pixelon and IXC Communications (later acquired by Level 3 Communications).
