Stream Energy Accepts Invitation to Join Captain Hope's Kids Board of Directors

DALLAS, Texas --(Business Wire)--

Stream Energy, the world's largest network marketer of energy, has expanded its commitment to the non-profit organization Captain Hope's Kids, by joining the organization's Board of Directors. Dallas-based Captain Hope's Kids meets the critical needs of homeless children in the North Texas area.

"We are very proud to have representation on the Captain Hope's Kids Board of Directors," said Stream Energy Chairman Rob Snyder in announcing that the seat on the Board of Direcors will be filled by Stream Energy's Senior Director of Communications Paul Thies.

"Families with children make up 47 percent of the homeless population in the Dallas metropolitan area," noted Chairman Rob Snyder. "Captain Hope's Kids touches the lives of more than 30,000 children from homeless families every year. I believe representation on the Board will provide additional support to this organization," he added.

Stream Energy's partnership with Captain Hope's Kids is embodied by the initiative "A Big Difference Starts Small," which in the last year has included sponsorship of the giant New Year's Eve fireworks at Victory Park; a contribution totaling $15,000 collected during the energy company's annual national convention; a diaper drive; and a holiday toy drive.

"I am delighted Stream Energy has accepted the Board's invitation for membership," said Captain Hope's Kids Executive Director Jeanne Reyer, adding, "as a Board member, Paul Thies will complement the current high level of experience and expertise."

Dallas-based Stream Energy is the longest-tenured direct seller of deregulated energy in America. Moreover, Stream Energy's business model, evoked by the catch phrase "It's OK to switch. Really®," has helped promote the successful deregulation of retail energy services within Texas, Pennsylvania, Georgia and Maryland.
