Cricket launches LG Optimus C Smartphone on 3G network


(EquityBites Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Provider of wireless services Cricket Communications Inc, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Leap Wireless International Inc (Nasdaq: LEAP), on Tuesday launched the LG Optimus C Smartphone.

Reportedly the first Android device by LG to be added to Cricket's phone offerings, the LG Optimus C Smartphone features a 3.2 inch HVGA touch-screen, Wi-Fi capability, 3.2MP camera/camcorder, music player and microSD slot, 600 mhz processor and a virtual QWERTY keyboard.



The silver device operates on the Android 2.2 OS, and offers 3G real web browsing and access to the Android Marketplace, providing Cricket customers with multi-app screens and access to over 100,000 popular apps.

The LG Optimus C is available immediately at a retail price of USD199.99 in Cricket branded retail stores and specific dealers in most Cricket markets nationwide and on http://www.mycricket.com.


Cricket said the LG Optimus C is available on its all-inclusive USD55 Android plan, which provides users with unlimited talk, text, 411 information, navigation, international text, unlimited picture and video messaging and nationwide data services on the company's 3G network.
