Gluster Collaborates with RightScale to Deliver Scale-Out NAS for Cloud Environments

Mar 07, 2011 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- Gluster, a provider of scale-out, open source storage solutions, has announced a partnership with RightScale, Inc., a company engaged in cloud computing management, to provide Gluster's scale-out storage technology within the RightScale Cloud Management Platform.

In a release, the Company said that customers can take advantage of its software-only network-attached storage (NAS) solution to dynamically deploy and manage scalable storage in a RightScale cloud environment.

Gluster said that the RightScale Cloud Management Platform simplifies the deployment, management and monitoring of Gluster's scale-out storage technology. This new partnership enables organizations to deploy Gluster storage in minutes and manage data growth in a single global namespace in the cloud environment. Additionally, customers can use Gluster to extend the scalability and cost-effective benefits of the RightScale Cloud Management Platform to their cloud storage solution. Gluster's scale-out storage is specifically designed for cloud and virtual machine environments, making it the most effective solution for addressing the issues of flexibility and manageability in such dynamic environments," said Jack O'Brien, vice president of marketing at Gluster. "This partnership with RightScale allows us to better serve the growing number of customers where storage is playing a crucial role in the adoption of cloud computing." "The addition of Gluster to the RightScale platform demonstrates our dedication to providing comprehensive cloud computing solutions that make deploying and managing a cloud simpler and more powerful than ever," said Josh Fraser, vice president of business development at RightScale.
