Verizon Wireless Extends 3G Network Coverage in North Scituate, Rhode IslandMar 07, 2011 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- Verizon Wireless recently activated a new cell site in North Scituate that expands wireless voice and 3G data coverage along Danielson Pike, Route 6, Route 116 and parts of Route 101 in North Scituate, as well as the surrounding areas. According to a release, the company invested in Providence County to continue to stay ahead of increasing demand for voice and mobile Internet access. Verizon Wireless has invested more than $2.8 billion into its New England network since 2000, including more than $242 million in 2010 alone, to increase coverage and capacity on behalf of customers. "Today people across Rhode Island are increasingly relying on wireless tablets, smartphones and apps to stay organized and connected.
