2D3 acquires Sensing Systems

Sensing is an 11 year old business that has dominated the imagery and metadata management space with its core Sensing software libraries which, among other features, enables other software producers to easily decode, encode, manage, store and disseminate video based information.

Both companies have customers in commercial, government and defense markets including key customers involved in the rapidly growing field of Unmanned Vehicles. The combination of the two companies' technology, people and processes will enable significant expansion in this critical area, and will establish the combined entity as a foundational solution to system integrators and prime contractors.


The San Mateo based Sensing Systems division will be the cornerstone of 2D3's US-based software development, and will immediately begin integrating 2D3's computer vision software and algorithms into the core Sensing Software Libraries.
