McAfee Names Netronome a Technology PartnerFeb 17, 2011 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- Netronome, a developer of network flow processors, announced that it has completed compatibility testing in the McAfee Security Innovation Alliance program to become a Technology Partner. According to a release, under the McAfee SIA program, Netronome SSL Inspector appliances have demonstrated interoperability with McAfee Network Security Platform devices. The Netronome SSL Inspector appliances provide line-rate decryption of encrypted traffic, and the joint solution with McAfee leverages this capability to detect and protect against threats hidden within encrypted traffic. "We are pleased to have Netronome in the SIA program as a Technology Partner providing a high-performance cyber-security solution that addresses threats that may exist within encrypted communications," said Ed Barry, vice president of the Security Innovation Alliance, McAfee. "Netronome's SSL Inspector, coupled with the McAfee Network Security Platform, can benefit our customers with greater protection, improved compliance and higher performance." The Netronome SSL Inspector appliance can be seamlessly deployed alongside existing security appliances in networks ranging from 100 Mbps to 10 Gbps. It provides policy-driven access to the contents of encrypted communications. As a transparent proxy, the SSL Inspector protects the investment in existing security appliances while mitigating costly changes to the network topology or client re-configuration. "Virtually every business is facing an onslaught of new web- and cloud-based communications - many of which use encryption by default," said Jarrod Siket, senior vice president of sales and marketing, Netronome. "As a member of the McAfee SIA program, our shared customers can benefit from these applications and services, with the confidence in their ability to immediately remove potential gaps created by encryption in their security and compliance architecture."
