Eltek Valere Surpasses 200,000 High Efficiency Power Systems Installed as Carriers Respond to Green Power Option

Eltek Valere (News - Alert), the world leader in high efficiency power systems, today announced that its flagship Flatpack2 high efficiency (HE) rectifier product line has reached a milestone of 200,000 units installed worldwide.

The company estimates that the prodigious deployment of 200,000 Flatpack2 HE units has cut close to 200 million kilowatt hours in wasted electricity, reducing CO2 emissions by approximately 140,000 tons and has currently saved carriers more than US $22 million in power related operating expense.

The Flatpack 2 HE is used throughout the world; both in new installations with requirements for cutting-edge technology, and in power system modernization applications where the HE rectifiers provide an excellent opportnity to reduce operational cost.

With this large installed base, Eltek Valere has been able to demonstrate a very low in-field fault rate of less than 0.14 percent for the Flatpack2 HE, and a mean time between failure of more than 2.5 million hours. This very high reliability further contributes to reduced maintenance costs in modernized networks.

Eighty percent of all energy consumed by the telecom industry goes through DC power equipment supplied by Eltek Valere and its main competitors. Recognizing the need to assist carriers with reducing their operational costs and impact on the environment, Eltek Valere began in 2008 to convert its entire rectifier line to high efficiency power.
