Rep. King Introduces Bill to Facilitate Development of Wireless Public Safety Broadband Network(Targeted News Service Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) by HIND SABIR Targeted News Service WASHINGTON, Feb. 12 -- Rep. Peter King, R-N.Y., has introduced legislation (H.R. 607) to "enhance public safety by making more spectrum available to public safety agencies, to facilitate the development of a wireless public safety broadband network, to provide standards for the spectrum needs of public safety agencies." The bill was introduced on Feb. 10 and has six co-sponsors. Co-sponsors include Reps. Bennie G. Thompson, D-Miss., Mike Rogers, R-Ala., Yvette D. Clarke, D-N.Y., Candice S. Miller, R-Mich., Billy Long, R-Mo., and Michael G. Grimm, R-N.Y. The legislation was referred to the House Energy and Commerce Committee.
