Kineto's Smart Wi-Fi app deployed on 1m Android smartphones(Telecomworldwire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Kineto Wireless Inc, a supplier of smart offload solutions for smartphones, said yesterday that its Smart Wi-Fi application has been deployed on over 1m Android handsets worldwide. The Smart Wi-Fi app became commercially available in November 2010 to subscribers of T-Mobile USA and Orange UK and it was distributed to more than 1m Android phones within the first 60 days of its release. Kineto is currently in talks with five smartphone manufacturers and anticipates having its app pre-loaded on more than 30 Android devices in the first half of this year. The Smart Wi-Fi app turns any Wi-Fi access point into an extension of the mobile network, providing an offload solution for operators.
