Coupons.com Issues More Than $1.2 Billion in Digital Coupon Savings in 2010; New Consumer Products and Expanded Distribution, Staff and Offices Enable Growth
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. --(Business Wire)--
Coupons.com Incorporated, the recognized leader in digital coupons,
including online printable, loyalty card and mobile promotions, today
announced the company's 2010 business results, including the total
consumer savings from the Coupons.com digital coupon network last year.
More than $1.2 billion in coupon savings was issued from the Coupons.com
network in 2010, including coupons printed or saved to a loyalty card
from a wide variety of sources across the digital domain, including
social media fan pages. This year-over-year growth in issued savings of
more than 41 percent was facilitated by increased consumer demand around
deals and discounts; more unique offers from leading brands; and
increased consumer access to deals through social media and mobile
channels.
"2010 was an outstanding year for the deals space overall and for our
business," said Steven Boal, CEO of Coupons.com Incorporated. "Over one
billion dollars in savings was issued from the Coupons.com digital
coupon network last year alone, enabled by our new products and services
for consumers, brands and publishers, an expanded network, and a larger
employee base to support the growth of the business. And, studies show
that the consumer fervor around deals is here to stay, making way for
continued growth in the future."
2010 Coupons.com business highlights include:
-
New Consumer Products. The company released new products and
enhancements in 2010, enabling brand marketers to better reach
consumers and help them save more and shop better.
-
Online Printable and Loyalty Card Coupons. Coupons.com
offered consumers more than two times the number of unique coupon
offers in 2010, compared to 2009. This includes printable and
loyalty card coupons available on Coupons.com, the Coupons.com
network and client's digital media initiatives. In addition,
further 'Save to Card' functionality was added in 2010, enabling
even more shoppers to save coupon offers directly to their store
loyalty cards, which are automatically deducted at checkout paper
free. Consumers can now save offers to loyalty cards for nine
leading grocery chains.
-
Social Coupons. Coupons.com helped leading brands launch
hundreds of coupon campaigns in social media that resulted in
millions of new fans, allowing brands to increase their social
audience and drive further communication with their enthusiasts as
well as increased sales.
-
Coupon Codes. The Coupon Codes portal was completely
revamped in 2010, offering thousands of codes, savings offers,
rewards and special promotions for discounts from major online
retailers.
-
Daily Deal. The Daily Deal was introduced to the 15 million
unique monthly users of Coupons.com, offering deep discounts on
products and services from local businesses.
-
Mobile Apps. The number of downloads of Coupons.com and
Grocery iQ mobile apps exceeded 2 million in 2010. In addition,
versions of Grocery iQ for Android (News - Alert) and iPad were introduced.
-
Expanded Distribution Network. Coupons.com powers the largest
network of digital coupons. Last year, thousands of new distribution
partners were added to the Coupons.com digital coupon network,
including leading Web publishers, retailers and mobile app developers.
-
Web Publishers. Thousands of publishers, large and small
alike, jumped into the deals craze with the help of Coupons.com.
Many major brands introduced branded coupon galleries on their Web
sites, and smaller publishers added coupon offers and coupon
galleries with Brandcaster, Coupons.com's easy-to-use self-service
digital coupon platform. Coupon galleries allow publishers to give
valuable content to their visitors and, at the same time, monetize
site traffic.
-
Retailers. Coupons.com added new retailer partners during
the year, including grocery, drug and mass chains. Powering either
online printable and/or save to loyalty card galleries, these new
relationships extend the Coupons.com retailer network to include
more than 44,000 store locations.
-
Mobile App Partners. In addition to providing online
printable and save to loyalty card coupon galleries to the
company's own Grocery iQ app, Coupons.com added new mobile app
syndication partners.
-
Expanded Staff. In 2010, the Coupons.com grew to more than 270
employees (including over 250 domestic staff as well as 20
international employees through the company's international
affiliate), expanding by almost 50 percent over the year prior. During
2011, the company expects to hire an additional 100 people across the
organization, most heavily in engineering, sales and marketing in the
U.S. and international markets.
