Global Science & Technology Hires Dr. Shaida Johnston As Program Manager of Climate Data Records (CDR) ProgramGREENBELT, Md. --(Business Wire)-- Global Science & Technology, Inc. (GST (News - Alert)) is proud to announce the hiring of Dr. Shaida Johnston as the firm's program manager of the Climate Data Records (CDR) Program at the National Oceanic (News - Alert) and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) National Climatic Data Center (NCDC) located in Asheville, NC. The program's goal is to help better inform the public and enable decision makers to plan and respond to climate-related events in a more effective and timely manner. NCDC is the world's largest active archive of climate data. NCDC produces numerous climate publications ad responds to data requests from all over the world. NCDC operates the World Data Center for Meteorology co-located at NCDC in Asheville, NC, and the World Data Center for Paleoclimatology located in Boulder, CO. GST is providing CDR program/project management and project control and oversight services under the current contract, and NOAA program support through several other contract vehicles. Dr. Johnston has worked with the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, MD for more than 16 years. She most recently worked as a science and technology systems manager for The National Polar-orbiting Operational Environmental Satellite System (NPOESS) at the Integrated Program Office in Silver Spring, MD working with NOAA, DoD and NASA to incorporate new sensor and space technologies onto planned NPOESS space platforms.
