Ditech Networks Teams with Digium

Feb 07, 2011 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- Ditech Networks announced that it has entered into a marketing partnership with Digium Inc., creator and primary sponsor of the Asterisk telephony project, to make Ditech's Voice Quality Assurance (VQA) algorithms available to the Asterisk developer community.

The Company said Asterisk is an open source software platform that enables organizations to build their own PBXs. Asterisk and Digium customers are now able to download a software module for Asterisk VQA software from either the Ditech or Digium websites.

According to a release, Ditech made the VQA algorithms available to the millions of users of the Asterisk Open Source Telephony Project back in October of 2010; however, with this new marketing partnership, Asterisk developers can now access Ditech's VQA algorithms directly through the Digium website and pinpoint detailed issues within the voice path, including noise, echo, level mismatches, compression artifacts, packet delay and jitter.

"For over twenty years, Ditech Networks has been providing voice quality solutions to many of the world's leading network operators and today we are proud to expand our reach by bringing VQA to the Asterisk community through our marketing partnership with Digium," said Todd Simpson, President and CEO of Ditech Networks. "We are pleased to have Digium as our partner in making VQA available to the entire Asterisk community." "Ditech's VQA software nicely complements the Asterisk platform by giving developers easy to use tools to understand and manage their voice quality," said Rod Montgomery, Director of Services of Digium. "We are very pleased to now offer Ditech's VQA directly to our Asterisk customers, giving them a solid software platform they can use to improve voice quality on their networks." Digium has become an open source alternative to proprietary communication provider, with offerings that cost as much as 80 percent less.

Ditech Networks is a company focused on modern communications with voice processing solutions and voice applications that offer network and speech quality enhancement, voice call control, speech-powered web access, voice-to-text services, and more.
