Covia Labs Receives San Jose / Silicon Valley Business Journal's Emerging Technology Award

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. --(Business Wire)--

Covia Labs, Inc. has won the Silicon Valley / San Jose Business Journal's 2010 Emerging Technology Award in the security category. Selected by the editors of the publication, Covia and the other category winners were recognized at an awards ceremony held on November 30, 2010 at the Computer History Museum in Mountain View.

Covia's software platform offers a cost-effective way for public safety and the military to integrate consumer mobile phones and commercially available devices into their operations. For example, devices within the Covia system could provide a map with continuously moving icons that represent the current locations of emegency response personnel, equipment and command sites.

Covia was also recently recognized as a "Top Performing Technology" in the assessments of the U.S. Department of Defense's 2010 Coalition Warrior Interoperability Demonstration (CWID) events that took place in June 2010. At the event, a simulated terrorist attack in the U.S. was staged and Covia demonstrated its software platform that enables encrypted interoperable communications between a wide array of organizations, devices and equipment.
