Korean Air named best Asian carrier for 4th year

Dec 11, 2010 (The Korea Herald - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- SEOUL (THE KOREA HERALD/ANN) -- Korean Air, the country's biggest carrier, said that it has been named the Best Asian Airline by the Business Traveler Magazine for a fourth straight year.

The magazine is a U.K.-based publication specializing in business travel. More than 500,000 of its readers vote each year for winners of 59 sectors including airlines, hotels and airports.

The airline said it also won two other categories: "Best Business Class to Asia" and "Best Airline Advertising Campaign" for the fifth and third straight year, respectively.

"Winning the awards years in a row is testimony to the effort Korean Air is placing in pursuit of excellence in flight," said John Jackson, Korean Air's sales and marketing director for the Americas.

"Korean Air is now North America's largest airline to Asia and we are committed to providing travelers the best in-flight entertainment, the most comfortable seats available and remarkably attentive service." Korean Air is one of the world's top 20 airlines, operating nearly 400 daily passenger flights to 114 cities in 39 countries.

Meanwhile, Asiana Airlines received awards for best flight attendants and best in-flight services from the British magazine.

The nation's second-largest carrier said its cabin crews provide a variety of in-flight entertainment for passengers and dining options including Japanese, Korean and Western dishes as well as multi-course formal dinners, to ensure the best service.
