(Japan Economic Newswire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) TOKYO, Nov. 29 -- (Kyodo) _ ---------- Pirated editions of Murakami novels found on Apple's App Store NAGOYA - Pirated Japanese editions of popular novels by Haruki Murakami were discovered for sale on Apple Inc.'s App Store on Monday, shortly after unauthorized Chinese translations were found available online.



The Japanese version of the novels -- "1Q84" and "Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World" -- sold on Apple's App Store have apparently been translated from Chinese and contain typos.

---------- Toshiba ties up with U.S. firm to build nuclear plants outside Japan TOKYO - Toshiba Corp. announced Monday it has agreed with U.S. engineering service provider Shaw Group Inc. to jointly construct nuclear power plants outside Japan.


Shaw will be in charge of building Toshiba's advanced boiling water reactor, which has been in use at nuclear power plants in Japan, helping the Japanese electronics maker smoothly construct such facilities abroad.

---------- Bird flu suspected at Shimane chicken farm MATSUE, Japan - Bird flu is suspected to have occurred at a poultry farm in Yasugi, Shimane Prefecture that feeds about 20,000 chickens, the prefectural government said Monday.

Five chickens were found dead Monday morning and they tested positive for bird flu in preliminary tests, it said, adding they may have been infected with the highly virulent H5 strain of avian flu virus.

---------- Japan promises Bangladesh to study tariff cuts on clothing imports TOKYO - Prime Minister Naoto Kan on Monday promised his Bangladeshi counterpart Sheikh Hasina that Japan will study the possibility of cutting tariffs on clothing imports from one of the world's poorest countries, Foreign Ministry officials said.

During a meeting in Tokyo, Hasina asked Kan to expand the scope of Japan's nontariff measures to clothing produced in Bangladesh made out of imported textiles and Kan assured her of "actively considering the proposal and reaching a conclusion at the earliest possible date," according to the officials.
