3M to Spend CNY28.5mn in Chongqing Technical Center


BEIJING, Nov 19, 2010 (SinoCast Daily Business Beat via COMTEX) -- 3M Company (NYSE: MMM), formerly known as the Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing Company, is to spend CNY 28.5 million establishing a technical center in Chongqing Municipality, Southwest China.

3M China recently exhibited the latest scientific and technological achievements and innovation plan at the tour of 3M China Innovation Day. At the tour, 3M Greater China Region President announced the investment of CNY 28.5 million in the establishment of a 3M Chongqing technical center, with a total area of 3,000 square meters, within five years. The phase I is predicted to be put into use at the beginning of next year.

3M, founded in 1902 and one of the World Top 500, has provided more than 60,000 categories of products, involving in industry, chemical, electronics, electrical, communications, transportation, automotive, aerospace, medical, security, architecture, culture and education office, commercial and domestic consumer goods. More than half of people in the globe touch 3M products directly and indirectly every day.
