ZTE Corporation: T-Mobile Vibe mobile phone makes social networking easy

SHENZHEN, China, Nov 09, 2010 (M2 PRESSWIRE via COMTEX) -- ZTE Corporation ("ZTE" - H share stock code: 00763.HK / A share stock code: 000063.SZ), has launched the T-Mobile Vibe, a stylish side-slider phone with a full 2.8 inch touch screen perfect for internet browsing and a QWERTY keyboard for easy texting, emailing and social networking.

The T-Mobile Vibe is available for just GBP39.99 from launch as a pay as you go phone. It offers a one touch icon direct to the Facebook user's login page, while other social media services such as Twitter, MySpace and BeBo are available via bookmarks. Music on the move comes from an integrated FM radio and MP3 player that will also play AMR, WAV, iMelody, Midi, AWB, M4A, MP4 and 3GP files. Stereo music and photos can be shared using Bluetooth connectivity.

Calls can be shared with friends using hands-free calling, while the handset also offers voice capture, polyphonic and MP3 ringtones, predictive text, and more.

"The successful Vairy Touch series offered an affordable touch-screen user experience for T-Mobile customers. The T-Mobile Vibe reinforces our commitment to delivering the best quality handsets to our pay as you go customers. With this handset we are able to offer the touch screen experience together with a full QWERTY keyboard previously unseen in this pay as you go segment," said Nicola Shenton, head of handset and device marketing at T-Mobile UK.

"The T-Mobile Vibe is the latest in a series of quality phones brought to T-Mobile by ZTE that offer broad appeal through rich features and strong designs in the mass market pre pay segment," said Mr. Wu Sa, Director of Mobile Device Operations, ZTE (UK) Ltd.

The pay as you go T-Mobile Vibe is available in black or pink. It includes a 2MP camera for still or video shooting, and a 2GB memory card for storing music and pictures.

Additional practical functions include a calendar, calculator, currency converter, stop watch and world clock.

The launch of the T-Mobile Vibe closely follows the September launch of the T-Mobile Zest, a simple talk, text and camera candy bar handset with FM radio and MP3 player.

ZTE also continues to supply the T-Mobile Vairy Touch II, following the success of the Vairy Touch launch in 2009.
